Purina Cat Chow is auditioning cats and their caretakers for the part-time gig, which entails blogging about travel with a kitty to interesting cities and other places.

One way to get the job of "Purina Cat Chow Correspondent" is to audition at PetSmart stores in the following markets. Bring in your pet between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. local time:

*This Saturday: Tampa, Fla. 12835 Citrus Plaza Drive.

*Next Saturday: Minneapolis area. 1100 W. 78th St., Richfield, Minn.

*March 19: San Francisco area. 315 Gellert Blvd., Daly City

Those who can't make these events can visit catchow.com for information and to apply online. Applications will be accepted until March 28.

Here are some hints as to what Purina is looking for: The company wants someone who can communicate well about cats and travel. The online application asks how many Facebook friends and Twitter followers you have, as well as if you blog (sounds like being a heavy social media user is a plus). Applicants online also answer questions, such as "If your cat could talk, what would be the first question you would ask him or her?" And you can post a video.
